Long white root, usually eaten in stirfries, soup or pickled. Peel the skin to reduce the heat. Leaves can be steamed & seeds make a spicy sprouts. A cool season grower.
70-80 days to harvest. Prefers rich well-drained soil.
Best planted in September, October, March, & April.
Direct sow 12mm deep. Prefers full sun but grow in shade during hot weather. Plant grows 75cm apart & thin plants to 15cm. Keep soil moist to avoud tough fibrous roots. A hardy vegetable that will readily self seed.
Sow when is based on cooler climates. If you are growing in a warm climate you may need to check your local sow when guides.
