PUMPKIN: LONG PIE

This is another “2 for 1”. This elongated variety is ready for harvest when it is green with an “orange spot” at the base. It will ripen to a vibrant orange in storage when it is ready to be enjoyed. It’s virtually stringless flesh make it an idea “pie pumpkin”, however it can also be enjoyed as a summer squash while still immature! A native American Heirloom which can be enjoyed at multiple stages of it’s development and in a myriad of dishes!

GROWING TIPS
Direct sow or in trays.
Plant seed 2.5cm deep, transplant or thin to 80-100cm apart.
Harvest when green and fruits have an “orange spot” at base and leave to ripen in storage.
