TOMATILLO: VERDE PUEBLA
(PHYSALIS IXOCARPA)
A beautiful paper lantern fruit similar to cape gooseberry used in Mexican salsas, and green sauces. The Verde Puebla has a lemony flavour. It is grown as an annual, however if protected from frost it will grow as a perennial. Harvest fruit when they almost fill the lantern.

Rich, well-drained soil.
GROWING TIPS
Raise in seedling trays 6mm deep and keep moist.
When robust enough transplant.
Plant 1 metre apart.
Their growth habit is similar to that of a bush tomato.
Fruit keeps for 2-4 weeks.
